Description: The aim of this book is to prepare the MBBS student in India for the practical examination in microbiology. It contains detailed content on exercises like Gram staining, Ziehl Neelsen staining, Albert staining, hanging drop preparation, and identification of bacteria from a pure culture. Biochemical tests, used for identification, are also discussed in detail. This books contains over 70 spots (including slides/photographs), which are most likely to feature in a practical examination. A short description of every spot is given, which covers the most relevant questions likely to be asked on that spot. Although it is primarily aimed to guide MBBS students, it will also be useful for MD, MSc and BSc students in microbiology; or students of other courses like dental, nursing, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
